What Sequence 1.4 Makes Possible
Hello,
Sequence 1.4 is out, and I think it changes what one person can do with a recording.
Until now, Sequence was very good at taking one recording and getting you to a clean edit quickly. Now it can handle the whole job: several cameras, several voices, the graphics, and the handoff at the end. All of it starts from the transcript, and all of it stays on your Mac.
From one recording to a whole production
A two-camera interview used to mean a lot of manual cutting between angles. Now you can tell Sequence who is on which camera, and it can suggest the angle changes as the conversation moves. You review them and adjust anything that feels off.
The same goes for a podcast with a sponsor read or a recurring intro. Edit it once, reuse it everywhere, and update it in one place when something changes.
Handing work over without the headaches
An edit rarely stays with one person. A Sequence Package lets you send the project itself, so your editor or client opens your actual decisions rather than a flattened file and a list of notes. Send it with the media or without, and add encryption when the content is sensitive.
Your tools, working on your behalf
If you use an AI assistant, it can now do real work in Sequence. Ask it to find a project, take out the silences and filler words, and hand you back a rough cut. It works on a copy, so your original stays untouched. This is optional and off by default.
The follow-up releases
Since launch, 1.4.1 and 1.4.2 have gone out, and they came from real projects. Exports are steadier, and relinking missing media is much less painful: point Sequence at the folder once and it finds the rest. Long edits with the profanity filter also start playing straight away. If you hit something awkward, I would like to hear about it.
Sequence on Setapp from 11 November
On 11 November 2026, Sequence arrives on Setapp. If you already subscribe, you can use Sequence in full as part of that subscription, with no separate purchase. If you know an editor or podcaster who is a Setapp member, this is a good time to tell them.
One request
Try 1.4 on a recording that normally gives you trouble: two cameras, a noisy room, a guest who arrives late. Then tell me what it did well and where it struggled. You can reach me through the Support page.
Thanks for being part of it.
