What is Sequence?
Sequence is a text-based rough-cut tool for spoken video on Mac, designed especially for editors working through long podcasts and interviews. It turns the recording into an on-device transcript, helps shape and clean the edit, prepares audio, and exports a finished cut or an editable project for Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve.
Can I try Sequence before buying?
Yes. Sign in to start your seven-day free trial, then download Sequence and sign in with the same account. No card is required.
Why not use Final Cut Pro’s Generate Captions feature?
Final Cut Pro’s caption tools are useful when you are already editing in its timeline and captions are the remaining task. Sequence starts earlier: use the transcript to review raw footage, shape the rough cut, remove repetitive spoken-video work, prepare audio, and then export or continue in your editor.
Does my media leave my Mac?
No. Transcription runs on-device, and your project data stays in an encrypted local database unless you choose to use encrypted iCloud backup.
What can I export?
Sequence can export a finished video or audio file, caption and transcript sidecars, or an editable project for Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve. Editor handoffs can include your cuts, titles, markers, prepared audio, and framing choices.
Does Sequence automatically synchronise external audio?
Yes. Auto Sync can align a matching external audio recording using waveform and transcript evidence. You can review the result, prepare the audio, and carry it into direct export or an editor handoff while keeping the original files untouched. Results depend on the recordings sharing enough matching content.
What Mac hardware and macOS version do I need?
Sequence requires macOS Sequoia 15 or later and an Apple silicon Mac, from M1 onwards.
How does pricing work?
Buy Sequence directly with one payment for use on up to three Macs, or choose annual or lifetime access through the Mac App Store. Region-specific direct pricing is shown on the Pricing page. Direct purchases are covered by our Purchase & Refund Policy.
What transcription model does Sequence use?
Sequence uses a Core ML conversion of NVIDIA’s Parakeet v3 speech-recognition model. It runs on your Mac using Apple silicon, so transcription does not require uploading your audio to a cloud transcription service.
During transcription, how much RAM is used?
Usage varies by system and job, but expect roughly 1–5 GB of memory while the model is loaded. Sequence releases that memory after transcription and its cooldown period complete.
Is there a Windows or Linux version?
Not yet. Part of the engine has been designed with cross-platform compatibility in mind, but we cannot promise a release date.
Do you offer an Education or Nonprofit discount?
Yes. Students, educators, and registered nonprofit organisations are eligible for 50% off the standard direct-purchase price.

How do I report a security issue?
Do not file a public GitHub issue for vulnerabilities. Our security policy requests private reports and coordinated disclosure. Read the Security Acknowledgements page for reporting details.
