v1.0.4
104 (20260424)
Workspace & Search
- When clicking a word in the search results, it now accurately scrolls and highlights the word in the transcription pane.
- When clicking a result we now lock onto that selection and preload the result to deliver a smoother experience.
- The transcription pane now gets a following marker of the current spoken word.
Clean Up
- You will no longer see duplicated missing media badges in the metadata pane.
- General tiny bug fixes and edge cases, we won’t list them all!
Trial Support
- The app now supports trials - giving you a chance to take a look first before committing to your purchase. Please note, this doesn’t mark the release of trial mode and we reserve the right to enable or disable at any point.
FCP Export
- We’ve added crossfade for when you remove filler words, giving you a smoother result in Final Cut Pro, and saving you extra clicks!
- No longer are long gaps in dialog split in your FCP timeline, everything is retained unless you direct the app otherwise.
- Profanity no longer catches ‘words-in-words’ where innocent words get flagged as profanity. No more “gym c***s”.
History
- The items have been recategorized to give a clearer and more informative outlook on your variant’s history.
Speed
- Your projects load much faster.
- Deleting projects and variants is now quicker and doesn’t stop you from switching project or catalog.

v1.0.3
103 (20260417)
Reliability you should feel day to day
Heavy save and remux work (including cross-volume moves to NAS or USB) are less likely to freeze the UI. Deleting a transcript clears the right profanity/filler preferences for that variant.
Transcription and Remux
Flows expose clearer stage timing in the UI and history-style messaging.
Library and imports
Newly imported projects in the library scroll into view automatically.
Global search and transcripts
Search highlighting targets the exact matched segment, and the paused playhead indicator uses a lighter underline treatment.
Legal
About copy use the registered mark where appropriate, with an explicit Rock Stars Unlimited attribution line.

v1.0.2
102 (20260416)
Reliability you should feel day to day
- Fewer “beach ball” moments when opening items from the system or using the library file chooser.
- Smoother media workflows, especially with network libraries and during remux/progress handling.
- Better handling of unusual system output during media jobs, so edge cases with certain languages or characters are less likely to cause an issue.
Video and keyboard control
- Keyboard focus returns to the video pane more reliably after sheets, panels, or overlays close.
- Seek shortcuts again use the intended 10% jump behavior.
Global search
- ⌘1 / ⌘2 / ⌘3 scope shortcuts work again while the search field is focused.
Transcript and on-screen notices
- Read-only / inline notices are easier to see: they sit above the transcript UI.
VoiceOver and accessibility
- VoiceOver is cleaner around transcripts, scrolling, and split panes
- Clearer labels for icon-only controls, better tap targets for accessibility, and Reduced Motion awareness where it matters.
Updates and first launch
- Smoother in-app update flow
Legal, credits, and localization
- License and attribution text refreshed, with localization corrections where credits and legal copy appear.

v1.0.1
101 (20260412)
Improvements
- Variant no longer fail to ‘root’. When you're using variants, Sequence now treats the variant you're working in as the primary focus instead of quietly failing and falling back to the root project.
- Transcription starts on the active tab. Starting or retrying transcription uses the transcript tab's project, so jobs are less likely to attach to the wrong row when selection is catching up.
- Cancel transcription more reliably. Canceling now finds the in-flight job.
- Fewer low-signal notifications. Routine metadata probing no longer raises a user notification - Action Center (auto-dismiss) is enough for that kind of background work.
- More dependable audio normalization. GPU-related acceleration is only applied where it actually helps (AAC). Other formats avoid a path that could fail on some files.
- Profanity handling stays consistent. Subtitles on the player, Final Cut Pro XML export, and mute/beep behavior now follow the same rules.
- Canceling normalization cleans up properly. If you cancel normalization, Sequence reverts the project state, refreshes the library view, and clears internal cancel flags so the UI doesn't get out of sync.

v1.0.0
100 (20260412)
We’re excited to share the first public release of Sequence, a native macOS app for transcribing, refining, and preparing audio and video for delivery and editing.
v1.0.0
- On-device transcription — Download Core ML transcription models and run recognition locally on your Mac once a model is installed.
- Transcript-based editing — Edit at sentence and word level alongside playback, with controls for filler words and profanity, plus the option to reset a transcript to its original state.
- Caption controls — Tune captions with words-per-caption, characters-per-line, and sentence-splitting behavior.
- Audio prep and media conversion — Normalize audio with LUFS and true-peak controls, attach external audio per project, and produce compatibility-friendly output with remux and transcode options.
- Flexible exports — Send edits to Final Cut Pro (FCPXML), and optionally export subtitles as SRT, VTT, or SBV, plus plain text and CSV.
- Project organization — Use the library, catalogs, project variants, history, global search, and the action center for long-running tasks.
Notes
- Some features (for example parts of the marker workflow) are still in progress and may show as Coming soon in the app.
- If something goes wrong, please open an issue with your macOS version, steps to reproduce, and a sample file when you can safely share one.
