DaVinci Resolve export

After editing the transcript and preparing the active variant, choose the DaVinci Resolve destination in Sequence’s export flow.

The selected variant controls which transcript edits, silence removals, profanity settings, markers, audio choices, and title options are sent to Resolve.

Export format

Sequence 1.3 and later export an FCPXML file that DaVinci Resolve can import. This path works with the free and Studio editions of Resolve.

Sequence 1.2.5 and earlier used a .drp workflow through Resolve’s scripting bridge. If you are using an older Sequence release, update the app before following this guide.

What Sequence sends to Resolve

Video clips

Hidden transcript sections, removed silence, filler-word cleanup, profanity skip behaviour, and sentence reordering are reflected in the exported timeline.

External or prepared audio

If the variant uses normalised audio or an attached external audio file, Sequence includes that prepared source in the export.

Profanity beep clips

When the variant uses Beep for profanity handling, Sequence places the generated beep clips at the corresponding edited timeline positions.

Titles

If you include titles, Sequence creates Resolve title data from the visible transcript. Caption text follows your caption settings and profanity redaction choices.

Markers

Sequence maps project markers through the edited timeline so their names and positions remain aligned after removals and reordering.

After export

When the export succeeds, Sequence records it in the variant history. From there, continue with grading, finishing, audio mixing, effects, and any editor-specific polish inside Resolve.
