Final Cut Pro bundle

1. Open the variant or Multi-Cam programme you want to deliver.
2. Select Export in the toolbar and choose Final Cut Pro as the destination.
3. Choose whether to include native titles and keywords. Set the timeline resolution and frame rate if you need a particular delivery format.
4. Save the export. Sequence writes an .fcpxmld bundle.
5. When the export finishes, open it in Final Cut Pro from Sequence, or open the saved bundle later from Finder.

The selected editing tab controls the export. Check the active variant or programme before starting.

Use Source for the existing timeline format, or choose an available resolution and frame rate. These are timeline settings, not a request to render a movie or to copy all source media. The inspector disables sizes and frame rates above the known source format.

What to expect in Final Cut

The result is an editable, source-linked timeline for further graphics, colour, effects, and mixing. It is not a rendered movie or a self-contained copy of every original file.

Sequence writes FCPXML 1.14 inside the bundle. Title-template compatibility and FCPXML import compatibility are separate: choosing Regular Titles avoids the newer Subtitle template, but does not convert the handoff to an older XML dialect.

Cuts and re-arrangements

Hidden words, removed sections, sentence reordering, filler-word cleanup, silence removal, and profanity skip decisions are reflected in the exported timeline.

Multi-Cam angles and layers

Multi-Cam programmes retain synchronized angles and angle cuts. Picture-in-picture and split-screen layouts use editable position, scale, crop, and stacking transforms rather than a flattened programme movie.

Layers and reusable assets are included with their placement, timing, and audio. Linked Sequence variants become nested editable scenes; their captions are not duplicated over the parent timeline.

Audio

The handoff uses the selected audio, including linked external audio, normalized audio, and approved mixes. Isolated source audio components and their roles are retained where available. Profanity Mute and Beep decisions follow the edited timeline; Beep adds a generated censor tone.

When channel analysis is available, the timeline settings offer Remove Silent Channels for audio preparation. Sequence can also prepare MP3 audio as M4A according to the conversion preference. Keep these generated files with the bundle.

Native titles (captions)

Enable native titles to create editable title clips from the visible transcript. Text follows your caption formatting and profanity-redaction choices.

Choose FCP Subtitles for Final Cut Pro 12.3 or later. This uses Final Cut's Subtitle title template, not a separate SRT file or a closed-caption track. Choose Regular Titles for the Basic Title template and broader compatibility.

Title chunks contain at most five words. If your caption settings request more, Sequence splits them into shorter titles and reports the adjustment. Media-only projects can export without a transcript, but cannot create transcript-derived titles.

Keywords

Enable keywords to include approved clip-keyword ranges. These provide searchable ranges in Final Cut without changing the visible edit.

Markers and timing

Markers are mapped through cuts and reordering. A marker in a removed section is omitted, and Sequence reports that omission. Source clips retain available source timecode; the exported sequence itself starts at zero.

Keep the linked media available

The bundle contains Info.fcpxml and generated media such as prepared audio, selected-stream adapters, and censor tones. Original files can remain linked at their existing locations; an .fcpxmld bundle does not guarantee that all camera media or placed assets have been copied.

Keep the bundle and its generated media intact, and keep the original media accessible. For a handoff to another Mac, transfer the required sources as well and check media links in Final Cut. To continue editing in Sequence instead, use a Sequence Package with source media included.

Transcript sidecars and automation

Formats enabled in Settings → Export can also be written beside an interactive timeline export: TXT, CSV, SBV, SRT, ASS, and VTT. These use the visible transcript's final edited timing and the current word/sentence split preference. They are separate files, not embedded captions, and do not require native titles to be enabled.

For scripted handoff, use CLI timeline export or the MCP export tools. The dedicated delivery action exposes title style, caption formatting, resolution, frame rate, MP3 conversion, and silent-channel removal. Its defaults are deterministic rather than a copy of the inspector's saved preferences. Automated timeline exports do not automatically write the sidecars selected in Settings; request a separate transcript/subtitle delivery when needed.

Export warnings

Read any warnings in the completion notice before continuing. If an export reports missing media or a selected track is unavailable, reconnect the drive or relink the source and check its track selections. For other failures, use the in-app issue reporter or contact support.
