Export Finished Video or Audio

Direct export

Choose Export in the toolbar, then select Direct Export when you want a finished file instead of an editable Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve timeline.

The render follows the active variant. Disabled words, removed silence, reordered sentences, profanity audio handling, external or normalised audio, and other timeline decisions are applied to the output.

Video settings

Leave resolution and frame rate on Source to preserve the media’s format, or choose a supported output size and frame rate. Sequence does not offer a frame rate higher than the source. Choose Auto, H.264, or H.265 for the video codec and use an automatic, preset, or custom video bitrate.

Higher resolutions and bitrates usually create larger files. Use Source or Auto when you do not have a delivery specification.

Audio settings

Choose Source, Mono, or Stereo for the output channels. Audio codec choices include Auto, AAC, ALAC, and Linear PCM, with bitrate controls where the codec supports them.

For an audio-only project, Sequence writes an appropriate native audio container rather than creating an empty video track.

Container and compatibility

Choose Auto, MP4, or MOV. Some combinations require a particular container; for example, Linear PCM requires MOV, so Sequence resolves incompatible choices before export.

Export progress

Choose a destination and begin the export. The render uses Sequence’s edited timeline projection and appears as background work while it runs. Do not move or disconnect the source or prepared audio files until the export has finished.
