Activate Sequence and Manage Your Account

Sign in from the app

Sequence supports signing in with Apple, Google, or email magic link. If you use email, Sequence sends a sign-in link to that address so you can activate the device without creating a separate password.

Activation

When you first sign in, Sequence checks whether your account has an active licence or trial. From there, you can start a trial, buy Sequence, restore an existing purchase, or continue into the app.

Direct-download builds use your Sequence licence. App Store builds can show the available subscription or lifetime-purchase options and restore purchases made with the current Apple Account.

Security and two-factor authentication

If your account has two-factor authentication enabled, enter the code from your authenticator app when Sequence asks for it. You can use an account recovery code instead when you cannot access the authenticator.

Open Settings → Account → Security to review account security and named passkeys. You can remove a passkey you no longer recognise or use. Account security changes may require a fresh sign-in.

Activated devices

Open Settings → Account → Devices to see the Macs activated on your account and remove an old device. Sequence does not let the current Mac revoke itself from that list; sign out on the current Mac when you want to deactivate it.

If you reach the device limit during activation, remove a device you no longer use and try again.

What a licence unlocks

A valid licence unlocks the complete workflow: on-device transcription, BS.1770-4 audio normalisation, global search, spoken-video cleanup, finished media export, and Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve handoff.

Offline access

Sequence allows offline use for up to a week after a successful licence check. After that, reconnect to the internet so the app can validate access again. This usually happens automatically; if validation fails, you may be asked to sign in.

Trials and expired access

Download the app, sign in, and follow the prompt to start the free trial. Check the Pricing page for the current trial length. When the trial ends, buy Sequence or choose an App Store plan to keep using the app.

Signing out

Sign out from Settings → Account. Your local project data remains intact in case you sign in again with valid access.
