Learn the complete workflow, from first import to finished cut or editor handoff.

Getting Started

Install Sequence, activate, import media, and use the workspace and player.

  1. Import Your MediaCreate a Sequence project from local media, understand the workspace panes, and avoid common import issues.
  2. Activate Sequence and Manage Your AccountSign in, activate a licence, view account details, and understand offline access.
  3. Transcribe, Edit, and Clean UpTranscribe on-device, shape the rough cut from text, remove silence and filler words, and handle profanity.
  4. Verify the Sequence Share ExtensionSend media to Sequence from Finder or another app with the macOS Share extension.
  5. Composition CropReframe a shot non-destructively and keep crop settings with each variant.
  6. Use the Player and Playback ToolsControl playback, captions, tracks, Picture in Picture, the detached player, and frame capture.

Export Finished Media & Editor Timelines

Render finished media or continue the active variant in Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Premiere, or another editor workflow.

  1. Export to Final Cut ProContinue the active Sequence variant in Final Cut Pro with cuts, native titles, markers, and prepared audio.
  2. Export to DaVinci ResolveContinue the active Sequence variant in DaVinci Resolve with cuts, markers, titles, and prepared audio.
  3. Avid Media Composer & Premiere SupportMove a Sequence edit into Premiere by converting its FCPXML export, and understand the current Avid Media Composer options.
  4. Export Finished Video or AudioRender the active variant as finished media with video, audio, frame-rate, and container controls.

Manage Media

Organise projects and folders, convert or relink media, normalise audio, attach external audio, and create variants.

  1. Convert Incompatible MediaRemux or convert incompatible media for reliable playback and export.
  2. Normalize AudioPrepare consistent audio with LUFS target loudness, dynamic range, and true-peak controls.
  3. Organise Projects, Folders, Catalogs, and VariantsUse project folders, Catalogs, pins, and variants to organise your Sequence library.

Settings and Troubleshooting

Configure shortcuts, notifications, caption creation, export preferences, profanity redaction, and filler-word vocabulary.

  1. Keyboard Shortcuts & App SettingsAdjust shortcuts, launch behaviour, notifications, privacy, and cache management from Settings.
  2. When Sequence Is Upgrading Your LibraryUnderstand the library upgrade screen that can appear after a Sequence update and what to expect while it completes.
  3. Sequence Is Not WorkingReport an issue, check the release notes, or temporarily test the previous Sequence version.
