Tune Caption Behaviour
Caption output
Sequence’s Transcription settings include a formatting preview, so you can see how caption and title text will break before export. Use it to check readability for the intended platform or editor workflow.
Sentence and word grouping
Caption behaviour can follow sentence grouping or split by words, depending on the export format and your settings. Sentence-based output keeps phrasing natural, while word-based output gives you tighter control when you need shorter caption chunks.
Line length and words per caption
Use the line length and words-per-caption controls to decide how much text appears at once. Shorter lines are easier to read on mobile or social clips; longer lines can be more comfortable for review exports and editor timelines.
Auto mode
If the delivery specification does not require a precise format, Auto is a useful starting point. Override it when the preview does not match the required style.
Profanity and hidden words
Caption output is built from the current presented transcript. Hidden or disabled words are omitted where appropriate, and profanity redaction is applied using the active variant’s cleanup settings.
Extra export options
Sequence can export TXT, CSV, SBV, SRT, ASS, and VTT sidecars. Enable the required formats in Export settings; Sequence saves them alongside the finished media or editor handoff.
You can also export a transcript directly from the transcript options menu. Choose the required text or subtitle format without running a finished-media or editor export.
