Convert Incompatible Media

When does it remux my media?

Remuxing creates a more compatible MP4 wrapper when the source container is awkward for playback or editing, while preserving the original project relationship. Sequence attempts do this before falling back to using a conversion.

The remux process is usually extremely fast as it’s just adjusting the container, not the media itself, so you’ll always retain 1:1 quality with your source.

Conversion preferences

In the Media Conversion screen you can set the video and audio bitrate manually, if not, Sequence will try to match appropriately your source media to a comparable output.

A conversion can take a lot longer depending on the length of the media you’ve working with, you can still go and do other tasks with Sequence and get notified via Notifications and/or the Action Center.
